In recent days, social networks in Hue have spread a clip recording the scene of about 10 workers (most of them female workers) standing in the middle of the yard in the sunny weather to listen to 4 people who are said to be in charge of the production line of a company promoting work.
What made the public angry was the group of workers forced to stand in the harsh heat to listen to the discussion while a few meters away was an area with a roof to cover the sun.
Through investigation, the clip was filmed at the premises of Billion Max Vietnam Export Processing Company Limited (headquartered in Chan May - Lang Co Economic Zone) during working hours.
After being posted online, the clip attracted many comments. Most opinions say that forcing workers to stand in the hot weather to exchange work is inappropriate, which can affect the health and spirit of workers.
On the evening of July 5, speaking with a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. P.A - the person who posted the clip - said that the incident was recorded by him on the afternoon of July 2, when the weather was hot.
"I felt so guilty and upset when I stood in the sun, so I filmed the clip and posted it on social media," said Mr. A.
Mr. P.A also said that he works as a cargo driver. After posting the clip on social media, he received many phone calls so he deleted the clip.
Mr. Tran Van Minh Quan - Chairman of the People's Committee of Chan May - Lang Co commune (Hue city) - said that after receiving the information, the commune directed the police to come down to work and make a record for Billion Max Vietnam Export Processing Co., Ltd.
"We request the company to review the violating individuals and apologize to the workers. At the same time, do not let similar incidents happen," said Mr. Quan.
