Apple has been working on a Smart Ring for two decades, but now we have to wait even longer. According to Bloomberg, the problem is less technical and more about the actual marketing strategy.
"Apple is not currently developing a smart ring and has no plans to launch one. It would devalue the Apple Watch. So Apple has no reason to undercut sales of a product that still has potential and is the dream of the health monitoring industry," said author Mark Gurman.
However, Apple is notorious for underselling its own products. The most obvious example is the iPhone completely replacing the iPod.
Among the many rumors about the Apple Ring, there is information that it could work in conjunction with the Apple Watch.
For example, wearing both an Apple Ring and an Apple Watch could help measure heart rate more accurately, like the Oura ring does now.
Therefore, many people expect that Apple Ring will become an additional accessory to the existing Apple ecosystem, instead of replacing other products.
