Analyst Mark Gurman said the upgraded device could be introduced as early as this year.
According to the source, the new Vision Pro model will use more powerful processing chips, components optimized to run artificial intelligence (AI) tools and belts that have also been designed to last longer and be more comfortable. Upgrading the configuration is almost inevitable, as the first-generation Vision Pro still uses the M2 chip, while Apple has now released the M4 chip.
In particular, the new strap is considered a valuable improvement, especially when Vision Pro was once promoted as a replacement for a home computer for the ban, which required wearing for hours. In fact, long-term use was a big weakness, because the feeling of being pressured on the head for 8 hours was not comfortable. Gurman revealed that Apple is developing an additional version of Vision Pro with a significantly lighter design, expected to launch in 2027.
However, the biggest obstacle is still the "sky-high" price. With a selling price of 3,500 USD, Vision Pro is still very difficult to reach common consumers, no matter how powerful the hardware is. Many speculations suggest that Apple is developing a shortened version, which could be in the $1,500-2,000 range.
In terms of software, Apple has confirmed that it is completing a new operating system for Vision Pro called VisionOS 26. This update will support virtual widgets and eye-rolled features, expected to launch later this year, which could coincide with the release of new hardware.
In addition, Apple is also said to be developing a wired virtual reality glasses model for businesses and its own smart glasses line.
