Digital transformation - the "golden key" for national development
At the program, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung emphasized: "Vietnam consistently believes that promoting science and technology, innovation, and digital transformation are the golden keys for the new period".

Mr. Dung highly appreciated the theme of this year's Digital Transformation Day: "Digital transformation: Faster - more effective - closer to the people", when expressing a clear act of action: "Taking speed as a decisive factor, taking efficiency as a destination and taking people as the center, subject, driving force, and resource".
According to the Deputy Prime Minister, the world is entering a period of profound transformation with strong advances in artificial intelligence, big data, and the Internet of Things. In that context, Vietnam identifies the application of science and technology, innovation and digital transformation as key factors to create a new growth model, towards rapid, sustainable, inclusive and autonomous development.
Since the Government issued the National Digital Transformation Program (in 2020), Vietnam's digitalization journey has formed a solid foundation with institutional improvement, digital infrastructure investment and online public services. Currently, more than 80% of ministries, branches and localities have shared data platforms; the digital economy contributes nearly 20% of GDP; Vietnam has risen to the group of 50 leading countries in the world in e-Government.
These are important results, demonstrating the efforts of the entire political system, business community and people in the national digital transformation process, the Deputy Prime Minister emphasized.
From thinking to action - putting people at the center of digital transformation
Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung also said that, besides achievements, there are still many challenges such as: unsynchronized mechanisms and policies, infrastructure and data are still scattered; shortage of high-quality digital human resources; many small and local businesses have not yet accessed the benefits of digital transformation.
He emphasized: "It is time for us to shift from thinking to action, from digitalization to creating digital value, turning action into real results".

In that spirit, the Deputy Prime Minister suggested that ministries, branches and localities focus on perfecting institutions, increasing investment in both "hard" and "soft" digital infrastructure, while accelerating the popularization of digital identities. He also set a specific goal: " By 2026, 100% of adults will have digital identities, payment accounts and public service accounts".
The Deputy Prime Minister affirmed that digital technology is not only a tool but must serve people, spreading to every agency, business, school, household, from urban to rural areas. We must transform digitally for people, so that people can benefit more, live better, be safer and happier in a digital society, said Mr. Dung.
At the end of his speech, the Deputy Prime Minister expressed his confidence that with high political determination, aspiration to rise up of the innovation community and international support, Vietnam will turn digital transformation into a strong movement, contributing to building a developed, independent, self-reliant and prosperous country.
He affirmed: "Digital transformation is a strategic choice, but also an order of the times for Vietnam to not only keep up with but also proactively lead the changes of the future".
