Ming-Chi Kuo continues to confirm that Apple's first foldable iPhone will integrate an Touch ID fingerprint sensor into the source button instead of placing it under the screen.
In a new post on X ( Twitter), Kuo recalled the March forecast for the device expected to launch in 2026, saying, 6 months ago, I predicted that the foldable iPhone would use Touch ID at the source button.
According to Kuo, although the market is rumored to be introducing an under-screen ultrasound sensor, this possibility is unlikely. Luxshare ICT is said to be the supplier of the Touch ID modular for the device.
Previously, Kuo predicted that the foldable iPhone will have a book-like design with a screen of about 7.8 inches, an extra screen of 5.5 inches, priced from 2,000 - 2,500 USD. Apple may remove Face ID to save space inside. The design of the touch ID- integrated source button also appeared on the iPad Air and iPad mini.
In terms of cameras, the foldable iPhone is said to be equipped with a dual rear camera system, along with a front camera that works in both folding and unfolded states.
Kuo and expert Jeff Pu predict that Apple will start mass production in the second half of 2026, while there is also information that the product may be released earlier, in the fall of next year.
