According to current regulations, users can confirm their subscriber status through the VNeID application.
For those who already have a level 2 VNeID account and the subscriber is still fully displayed on the application, the confirmation can be done completely online without having to return to Vietnam.
This is considered the most convenient option for Vietnamese people studying, working or living abroad.
Contact the carrier for specific instructions
In case it cannot be done on VNeID, users should proactively contact the switchboard or online support channels of telecommunications businesses.
Some network operators currently allow customers to check their subscriber status and perform some authentication steps through separate applications such as My Viettel, My VNPT or My MobiFone.
For special cases, telecommunications businesses will guide supplementing dossiers or carrying out necessary procedures according to regulations.
Authorization can be exercised in some cases
If you cannot directly handle it, users can also learn about the regulations on authorization for relatives in Vietnam to support the procedures.
However, the authorization needs to comply with the requirements of each telecommunications enterprise and may generate additional personal verification documents or certification according to regulations.
Users should contact the network operator in advance for specific advice, avoiding wasting time or missing documents.
Do not be subjective because it is still related to bank accounts
Network operators note that phone numbers currently not only serve communication but are also associated with many domestic financial services and digital platforms.
If the subscriber is one-way locked, users can still receive SMS messages and bank OTP codes. However, after 60 days if confirmation is not completed, the subscriber will be two-way locked, meaning they will no longer receive calls or messages.
This can directly affect bank account logins, transaction verification, using e-wallets, or restoring other online accounts.
Therefore, users who are abroad should proactively check their subscriber status and complete confirmation early, instead of waiting until they are double-locked or their numbers are recovered.
