On the afternoon of February 17 in Ho Chi Minh City, the award ceremony of the AiViet Innovation Award 2024 technology competition took place.
The goal of organizing the contest is to promote the realization of projects into commercial solutions, applied effectively to life, to solve social challenges, bringing positive benefits to Vietnamese society.
Mr. Nguyen Thanh Nam, founder of FPT, FPT Software, Chairman of AiViet Venture, said that through more than 107 entries, he noticed that the participants were very diverse.
He said: I see that through the submitted documents, scientific research is no longer the privilege of professors and doctors, with the development of the Internet that everyone can participate in. That is a testament to the spirit of innovation".
After the screening process, the organizing committee selected 7 potential projects including: carbon emission reduction solutions for the refrigeration system; Protein project from Yeast, a sustainable revolution in the soy sauce industry; technology model for the production of non-concentrated PSB-Lactobacillus photosynthetic enzyme to help reduce CH4 emissions and protect the environment; Research and commercialization project for rice typical of the flood season, adapting to climate change in the Mekong Delta; Agricultural agricultural robot; AI Liverpool Platform to help diagnose liver cancer early and AIoT computer platform project for processing at KIMQ border.
Sharing on the sidelines of the event, Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Bui The Duy highly appreciated the quality of the projects in the final round, which are both practical and have great potential for development, while promoting the spirit of innovation in the field of science and technology.
He said: "These are projects associated with Vietnam's scientific and technological strengths, solving practical problems, contributing to the country's rapid and sustainable development. The projects demonstrate the innovation, creativity, and accumulation of experience of the teams over many years.
We believe that the participating teams will receive support from investors in the future, so that their science, technology and innovation projects can become reality, especially develop into products and applications in life, promote the socio-economic development of Vietnam, and further form large Vietnamese enterprises".
In the final round, the jury will base on the presentations and reviews of the teams with a series of evaluation criteria: Effectiveness in solving practical problems; breakthrough and creativity; feasibility of realizing; market demand; potential for expansion and development; impact on the social environment; creative team... to score prizes, with the first prize up to 500 million VND.
The organizing committee also selected 1-2 projects to support startups, connecting investors with an amount of up to 50,000 USD.
