Gmail can summarize and reply to emails using Gemini AI

Gmail is integrated with Gemini AI, allowing to summarize long email chains and support fast, accurate email responses, reducing mailbox overload pressure.

Google is gradually upgrading Gmail with a new artificial intelligence ecosystem, marking what the company calls the "Gemini era".

The goal of this series of improvements is to help users understand email content faster, respond more effectively and focus on truly important information in an increasingly overloaded mailbox.

One of the most notable highlights is the AI Overviews feature.

According to Google, long email series often contain many important details but are "buried" in a series of back-and-forth responses.

With the AI Overview, Gmail can automatically summarize the entire conversation, highlight decisions, timelines and key discussion points without requiring users to read each email.

Not only stopping at summarizing, Gmail also allows users to ask questions directly to incoming mailboxes in natural language.

Instead of manually searching with keywords, users can ask questions like "who sent this quote?" or "what did you decide about project X last year?".

Based on Gemini's reasoning ability, Gmail will analyze related emails and give short, focused answers.

Currently, the conversation summary feature is provided free of charge to all users, while the inbox questioning function is for Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers.

Along with that, Google also expanded the email drafting support toolkit. The "Help me write" feature is now widely available, helping users draft, edit and complete emails faster.

The new "Response Suggestion" version is superior to the previous "Smart Response" thanks to its ability to understand the context of the conversation, thereby proposing answers suitable to the tone and style of each user.

In fact, Gmail can suggest subtle responses to sensitive situations, such as coordinating plans with family or exchanging work with colleagues.

Users still retain final approval before sending. In addition, the new Bug Check feature provides deeper suggestions on grammar, style and tone, making emails more meticulous.

However, "Bug Check" is currently only for AI Pro and Ultra subscribers. Google also said that in the near future, "Help me write" will be better personalized by taking context from other applications in the Google ecosystem.

Another important step forward is the emergence of AI Inbox.

Instead of simply arranging emails over time, AI Inbox will highlight important tasks, upcoming deadlines and urgent notifications such as invoices or appointment schedules, while reducing attention to less important emails.

This tool also creates a daily summary that is personalized based on the sender and priority level.

Google affirms that new features are all built with strict privacy protection measures.

Currently, AI Inbox is only available for a group of trusted trial users, but is expected to be widely deployed in the coming months, promising to significantly change the way users manage emails every day.
