This high-end chip line is expected to be equipped with the Mac Studio model and will likely also appear in the Mac Pro upgrade. It is not yet clear exactly when Apple will introduce the M5 Ultra, but according to tradition, the Ultra line is often launched after the Pro and Max variants.
Apple has introduced the M5 chip in the MacBook Pro, while the M5 Pro and M5 Max are expected to arrive in early 2026. Thus, the M5 Ultra will likely be launched in June or September of the same year.
Apple also confirmed that it has no plans to manufacture Ultra chips for all generations of the M-series, but only for versions that are considered unique and powerful enough to deserve the name "Ultra".
There are currently no other rumors about changes to Mac Studio, so the 2026 upgrade may focus mainly on internal performance and configuration.
In addition, Apple is said to be developing two new screen models, at least one of which could be launched with the Mac Studio in 2026.
