Reviews.org has just conducted a survey of 1,000 adults and the results show that each person has kept their smartphone for nearly 2 years and 5 months on average.
Regarding the reason for buying a new smartphone, 21.9% of survey participants said they wanted to enjoy performance faster. The problem of batteries came in second with 18.4% of survey participants choosing. New features and lost or broken phones are the next two answers on the list, surveyed by 13% and 12.8% of survey participants.
The survey also shows that on average, Americans only pay $634 for a new phone, regardless of the price of luxury flagships with starting prices from $1,000.
To do this, Americans often go through exchanging old devices for new ones or through the accompanying services of the network operator. Surprisingly, 47% of Americans pay for the entire cost of a new phone.
The majority of survey participants use Android phones, with 52.1%, while 47.6% of survey participants own an iPhone running iOS, a fairly balanced ratio. These things show that iPhones are very popular with the US, because in some other places, the rate of people using Android phones dominates the iPhone.
In terms of scores, with a scale of 0 to 5, iPhone users rate this device as having an average score of 4.16 compared to 3.98 for Android phones. Apple iPhone 15 users give the absolute score to 5/5, while the newer Samsung Galaxy models only get 3.6/5.
Even older models such as the iPhone 13 Pro Max (2021) and iPhone XR (2018) are rated 4.72/5 and 4.56/5, respectively. New Android phones are rated lower, while the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra (2023) is only at 3.58/5.
The survey also revealed that the most popular iPhone model, the most surveyed model, is the iPhone 13.
