Honor - the world's second-largest phone maker - appeared at Qualcomm's Snapdragon 2024 Summit, announcing that its upcoming Magic 7 flagship will be powered by the US-based chipmaker's Snapdragon 8 Elite processor.
More importantly, Honor has revealed its plans to develop an AI-first ecosystem. According to the leading Chinese smartphone manufacturer, the Magic 7 is the first smartphone to have an on-device AI Agent, which can order takeaway food on behalf of users, along with many other excellent features.
The AI Agent will use user consent to learn their habits and then make intelligent decisions. For example, Honor claims the AI Agent can understand whether a user likes coffee with coconut milk and order accordingly.
Not only that, AI Agent can also find and cancel unwanted subscriptions across various applications with just one simple command.
Honor's AI Agent can be used in a variety of activities, including travel planning, ticket booking, notification management, file transfer between apps, and more.
The new AI Agent will be part of MagicOS 9.0 - the latest operating system version based on Android 15 and will launch with the Honor Magic 7 Series.
According to Honor, compared to other smartphones, its solution helps reduce the GPU (graphics processor) load, helping to reduce device temperature, providing a better overall gaming experience with higher image quality.
The Honor Magic 7 series is scheduled to launch in China on October 30; it is expected to be released globally later.
