2025 is a dynamic year for Huawei, as the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) is busy launching products, especially the foldable screen product line. The results of improving technology and designs have brought clear results in the domestic market.
According to IDC, Huawei accounted for 75% of the foldable smartphone market share sold in the first half of this year in China. They are the first unit to account for such a large proportion, since launching the first foldable screen smartphone in 2019. To date, Huawei has shipped about 10 million foldable smartphones.

Statistics show that in the first half of this year, 4.98 million foldable smartphones were sold in China, up 12.6% over the same period last year. Of which, Huawei sold 3.74 million units. Some of their best-selling models include the Pura X, Huawei Mate XT - the world's first tri-fold smartphone.
Currently, the tech giant is preparing to launch new devices for the second half of 2025: Mate XT 2, Nova Flip 2 and Mate X7.
After Huawei, Honor is second in the foldable screen phone market share race in China with 8.4% market share. The company has achieved good sales thanks to the Honor Magic V5 foldable phone.
Meanwhile, Oppo ranked third with a market share of 6.1% and Xiaomi came fourth with a market share of 3.7% in China's foldable phone market in the first half of 2025. Vivo currently owns a 3.0% market share in this segment and hopes to be more successful in the future.
According to IDC experts, the foldable smartphone market has overcome the period of relying only on physical improvements to attract users.
As hardware specifications become more and more similar, software innovation and ecosystem development will become core factors that determine the competitiveness of manufacturers in the market.
