Although it was an important milestone in the journey of developing artificial intelligence (AI), the "death" of GPT-4 did not cause much regret for users. The complete replacement for this version is GPT-4o, an artificial intelligence model that the company has launched.
OpenAI affirms that GPT-4o is superior to GPT-4 in its ability to write, program and handle scientific and technical problems. Recent upgrades also make GPT-4o smarter in following instructions, solving problems and communicating naturally.
OpenAI calls GPT-4o a " worthy successor" to GPT-4.4, with more powerful multimedia capabilities, combining text, voice and image processing.
This information appeared in the context that OpenAI is said to be preparing to launch a series of new AI models such as o3, o4-mini, GPT-4.1 and accompanying mini and nano versions. Previously, in February, the company tested GPT-4.5 - an important stepping stone before launching GPT-5.
OpenAI also expressed its gratitude to GPT-4 in its latest announcement: "GPT-4 is an important milestone in the development journey of ChatGPT. We are grateful for the breakthroughs this model brings and the contribution of the user community. GPT-4o will continue to inherit and promote those values, with even greater superior capabilities".
