Increase awareness and education about AI
On December 10, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Ngoc - Deputy Director of the Department of Information and Communications of Quang Binh province said that the province is making efforts to promote digital transformation and the application of artificial intelligence (AI) in the fields of public administration, labor, production and socio-economic development. The goal of these efforts is to create consensus in the whole society and the political system, contributing to modernizing management and serving the people more effectively.
In 2024, Quang Binh organized many propaganda and training programs on AI. In October and November 2024, 2 training courses on AI application in administrative work were deployed for 120 officials from departments, branches, sectors and district People's Committees. Another training course for 80 civil servants, journalists, and media staff also took place, aiming to improve the ability to apply AI in communication and information management.
Propaganda about the benefits and applications of AI is also integrated into seminars, conferences and IT training courses. These activities help raise awareness and encourage the application of new technology in many areas of life.
Quang Binh Department of Information and Communications has deployed an electronic data center with a cloud computing platform connected to the Government system. At the same time, it is basically operated stably to serve the deployment, administration, operation, exploitation, and application of 12 platforms, information systems, and shared databases of the province, while supporting agencies and units to install and operate specialized systems and software.
The province is also developing a shared data integration and analysis platform. This data warehouse will connect with provincial and district-level information systems and databases, facilitating AI applications to analyze data for direction and decision-making.
At the People's Committee of Dong Hoi City and Ba Don Town, intelligent monitoring and operation centers (IOCs) have been initially built, integrating AI applications such as security and order monitoring via cameras, flood forecasting and forest fire warning.
Promoting AI applications in management
Deputy Director of the Department of Information and Communications of Quang Binh province informed that applying AI in digital government not only helps improve management efficiency but also reduces work processing time, human resources and costs for people.
Despite the progress, Quang Binh still faces many difficulties. Network infrastructure in remote areas has not met requirements; many areas still do not have 3G/4G signal, hindering the deployment of AI applications. Limited budget also makes the construction of databases and AI applications not achieve the expected results.
People and businesses still have low IT skills. In particular, small and medium-sized enterprises often lack the knowledge and capacity to integrate AI into production and business. This poses an urgent need for training and awareness raising at all levels of society.
To overcome these limitations and continue to promote AI applications, in 2025, Quang Binh will deploy a series of solutions:
Communication and awareness raising: Organize campaigns to raise awareness about the role and benefits of AI in life and work, especially in rural areas.
Develop infrastructure to invest in building strong server systems, high-speed network connections, and data centers that meet international standards.
Build a centralized database to digitize and develop important specialized data, ensuring connection and sharing between information systems.
Strengthen training and organize training courses for officials, civil servants and people on skills in using AI in management, communication and data analysis.
