Spotify launches feature to track favorite concert venue

QUANG MINH |

Spotify has just introduced a new feature that allows users to track their favorite music venue locations.

When a user selects a favorite location, it will be saved in their personal library. Each location page provides information about scheduled shows, general announcements and other related contents. Users can filter concerts by genre, and when clicking on a specific location, Spotify will suggest more same locations in the surrounding area.

Spotify's new location tracking platform also provides links to official ticket sales partners of each location, making it easy for listeners to buy tickets directly. Spotify now says it is monitoring more than 20,000 locations globally, from iconic big stages to beloved independent clubs.

In addition, Spotify also announced that it will change the way it updates the live event section, from weekly updates to daily updates. This tool helps users track artists' tour schedules and list music events near them.

This new feature is considered a positive step, in the context that many artists do not make much profit from playing music online but rely mainly on tour ticket sales.
