WWDC 2026 is an annual conference for Apple developers, scheduled to take place on June 8th, with a focus on changes in artificial intelligence (AI) strategy and operating system updates.
Although not predicted to be as explosive as in previous years, this year's event still attracts attention as Apple faces pressure to accelerate in the AI race, especially after being rated behind OpenAI or Google.
Below is everything Apple intends to introduce that we can will see at WWDC on June 8:
Siri chatbot: The biggest highlight
The most notable point at WWDC 2026 may be the appearance of a new version of Siri. Currently, Apple is developing Siri in the direction of chatbots, with an interface similar to chat applications like ChatGPT.
This version is currently being internally tested with the code name "Campos". If launched, this will be an important step to reposition Siri, which has been rated as lagging behind for many years and will become the center of the AI ecosystem named Apple Intelligence.
Some speculation also suggests that Apple may integrate technology from Google Gemini to accelerate AI development. However, the company has not officially confirmed this information.
iOS 27: Focus on performance
After iOS 26 brought major changes to the interface with Liquid Glass design, iOS 27 version is said to prioritize improving performance and stability.
Many experts compare this update to macOS Snow Leopard, which is famous for optimizing instead of adding new features.
Some expectations for enhanced multitasking capabilities on the iPhone are also mentioned, but the possibility of appearing right at the WWDC is not high.
macOS 27 and the complete transition to Apple Silicon
In the computer segment, macOS 27 is said to mark a major turning point when it stops supporting Macs using Intel chips, only compatible with Apple Silicon chips (from M1 onwards).
However, Apple still maintains Rosetta 2 to support running old applications. The company may also kill off some old hardware such as Time Capsule and AirPort Disks, which used to serve data backup via Time Machine.
New hardware?
Although WWDC mainly revolves around software, Apple may still introduce some hardware products. Sources say that new Mac mini and Mac Studio models may be upgraded to M5, M5 Pro or M5 Max chips.
These are likely to be performance-focused upgrades, similar to recent MacBook lines. However, products like HomePod or HomePod Mini are said to be unlikely to appear at this event.
Expectations and challenges
WWDC 2026 takes place in the context of Apple facing a lot of pressure to prove its capabilities in the field of AI. Upgrading Siri to a chatbot may be an important step, but the big question remains whether Apple can make a significant difference compared to its competitors.
The answer will gradually become clear when the official event takes place in June.
