Rockstar Games has just announced a half-year release date for the GTA VI game, causing fans to continue to wait. Rockstar Games confirmed that GTA VI will launch on November 19, 2026, instead of the original plan for fall 2025. The game was previously postponed to May 2026, and this was the second delay in just 1 year.
In the new announcement, the company said the development team needs more time to ensure the product reaches the highest quality. We regret having to extend the waiting time, but these additional months will help perfect the game to the level that fans expect and deserve, said Rockstar Games.
GTA VI is the sequel to GTA V - a game released in 2013 and once set a Guinness World Record as the fastest entertainment product to achieve a revenue of 1 billion USD, after only 3 days of release. The heat of this series has caused the trailer for GTA VI, released in December 2023, to break the record for the most-watched non-music video on YouTube in 24 hours.
Rockstar has not yet revealed the specific reason for the new delay. However, according to sources, the company has just cut about 30-40 employees after an internal information leak on the Discord platform, which could affect the game's development progress.
