The seminar "Building mechanisms and policies for Da Nang - Shaping a city of innovation" not only helps build the Da Nang - City of innovation project but also paves the way for building mechanisms and policies to serve innovation development.
At the seminar, Associate Professor, Dr. Tran Ngoc Ca - HSB School of Business and Management (Hanoi National University) said that Da Nang is a locality with the highest innovation index in the country. With the potential to become a major center for high-end tourism, Da Nang needs to focus on providing large quantities and high quality of various products and services, such as living, resort, medical treatment, and entertainment services.
In addition, the cluster development approach revolving around sea tourism can promote the localization of products serving high-end tourism. Technology and innovation activities in Da Nang focus on promoting other strengths of the city such as marine economy, port services, warehouses, logistics, and traffic hubs.
Da Nang needs to select a number of strategic partners or large (mainstream) investment groups to act as a locomotive to attract other investors, both domestic and foreign. Make full use of the resources of existing centers of excellence in the area and the heritage areas along the Central region (Hue - Da Nang - Nha Trang - Da Lat) such as biomedicine (Hue), flowers - vegetables (Da Lat), information technology and industrial production (Da Nang), and seafood (Nha Trang).
In addition, strategically link with a number of international innovation cities/localities; Develop creative industries and creative economies as an indispensable core for innovation cities.
Based on an attractive living and working space for scientists, inventors, entrepreneurs, investors, managers, artists (the core components of the creative economy), through many high-end resort and tourism apartments along the coast, build a program to attract qualified human resources, capacity, and investment resources to participate in regional economic development in general and innovation in particular.
The Da Nang - Innovative City project is expected to shape the city's development direction to become a center for startups and innovation. From there, the city government can issue practical policies, linked to reality to promote the development of elements in the ecosystem and enhance Da Nang's position in the international arena as a center for startups and innovation.
