Health experts emphasize that lemon water supports health through indirect mechanisms (such as hydration, vitamin C supplementation), not "detoxification" in the strict sense of the word.

A clear benefit of lemon water is increased hydration: many people drink less water, add a few slices of lemon to make the water easier to drink and therefore drink more water, which is beneficial for both the kidneys and the skin (healthier when provided with enough water).

Lemon juice helps supplement vitamin C and encourage hydration, thereby indirectly improving overall health.
