Dinh Thi Dieu Chau is ranked in the group of talented main attackers of Vietnamese volleyball. Volleybox website once ranked the athlete born in 1983 in the top 10 best main attackers in the history of volleyball in the country.
In his playing years, Dieu Chau created a brand from a "talent" with powerful left-handed spikes. In addition to spikes scoring points from outside the 4th line, Dieu Chau also has the strength of hitting behind the 3m line.
In the peak of her career, Dieu Chau and middle blocker Ngoc Hoa were considered to occupy 2/3 of the strength of VTV Binh Dien Long An club. In the national team jersey, along with Bui Thi Hue, Dieu Chau was also ranked in the prominent main attacking group.
Dieu Chau has won silver medals at SEA Games 2003, 2005... Besides expertise, she also won some beauty awards such as "volleyball beauty" at international friendly tournaments held in Vietnam.
During her time playing for VTV Binh Dien Long An, Dieu Chau not only succeeded in her career but also found "a half" of her life. Main attacker Phan Van Dinh - a colleague of the same age from Long An men's volleyball team - fell in love with Dieu Chau.
Dieu Chau and Phan Van Dinh have been together since they were 18 years old. The couple's love blossomed naturally after many contacts with the Long An youth volleyball team. The care of each other during their time away from home helped them get closer.
After 6 years of dating, in 2007, Dieu Chau and Van Dinh held a wedding and officially got married. In 2011, the athlete couple welcomed male twins. During this period, Dieu Chau temporarily stopped competing, spending time for her husband and two children.
When her son became stronger, the main attacker born in 1983 returned to play, wearing the jersey of the Ho Chi Minh City Women's Volleyball Club. However, due to the impact of injury, physical strength decreased compared to before, Dieu Chau decided to retire in 2016 at the age of 33.
When deciding to retire, Dieu Chau found a different direction for herself, while improving her family's economy. The former athlete chose to do fertilizer business, opening a store in Long An. In recent years, business has developed, bringing stable financial resources to Dieu Chau and her husband.
Currently, Dieu Chau has a prosperous and fulfilling life. She spends most of her time doing business and taking care of her family.
