Bui Thi Hue, born in 1985, is a familiar face of Vietnamese women's volleyball in the previous period. In her most energetic period, she played the main attacking role of the national team, highly appreciated for her bounce, strong attacking ability and fighting spirit.
Similar to her teammate Nguyen Thi Ngoc Hoa, Bui Thi Hue's husband is also a volleyball coach. The husband of this former player is Tran Van Giap, who wore the national team jersey for many years before switching to coaching.

The two are from the same hometown of Thai Binh (old) and knew each other quite early. The initial connection came from the training environment, when Bui Thi Hue was a close friend of Tran Van Giap's younger sister. The times of going back and forth, sharing activities in the provincial athlete community helped them gradually become closer.
However, it was not until they were both called up to the national team and gathered at the National Sports Training Center that the relationship between Bui Thi Hue and her husband really developed.
Their love lasted for many years before marriage. Due to a tight schedule, obligations to the club and national team, especially to Bui Thi Hue - who regularly carries heavy responsibilities in major tournaments, the couple had to postpone their separate plans. After about 7 years of attachment, they got married in 2008. Family life gradually stabilized with the birth of two sons.
In 2012, when she was at the peak of her career, Bui Thi Hue decided to leave the field to prioritize her family. This is considered a major turning point, because she was one of the pillars of Vietnamese women's volleyball at that time.
However, the former player did not completely leave the football field. In the periods when the Thai Binh women's team (now Hung Yen) lacked force, she returned to play short-term many times, notably in the A division in 2020 and the national championship in 2021.
Especially, during the period when Geleximco Thai Binh played at the highest level, the head coach of the team was Tran Van Giap. At that time, Bui Thi Hue both took on the role of coaching the youth teams and participated in training and competing with Team 1.
Her schedule is almost full from morning to afternoon, combining training and high-intensity exercise. Losing more than 20kg after giving birth to meet physical requirements is considered proof of her personal efforts in this comeback period.
The biggest achievement came in 2022 when Thai Binh won the national championship. On the coaching bench, coach Tran Van Giap played a key role in building the playing style and tactics. And on the field, Bui Thi Hue was one of the experienced factors, contributing to stabilizing the spirit and expertise of the whole team.
This is considered a special milestone when the couple contributed to the highest achievement of Thai Binh women's volleyball in history.

At the beginning of 2024, at the age of 39, Bui Thi Hue decided to close her 3rd professional playing career to completely switch to coaching.
Currently, she is in charge of training the Hung Yen youth women's team, while coach Tran Van Giap continues to lead the provincial women's team in the national championship. For them, marriage is not separate from their careers but becomes a fulcrum for both to maintain a long-term attachment to Vietnamese volleyball.
Coach Tran Van Giap once shared with Lao Dong: "Family is always by our side to encourage and support us throughout the working process, just like me and the club competing in tournaments. That is also a small happiness in our career and daily work.
It's a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit.
