Personalized gifts rise to prominence in graduation season
This year's graduation season, besides traditional bouquets of flowers, many students choose custom-designed gifts to preserve the mark of an important milestone in their lives.
Preparing gifts for her close friend at the upcoming graduation ceremony, Nguyen Thu Ha (a final year student in Hanoi) decided to place a chibi statue modeling her friend's image instead of choosing fresh flowers like every year.
I want the gift to be preserved for a long time. The statue is made based on real photos, with more details related to the major, so it is very meaningful and carries the personal mark of the recipient," Thu Ha shared.
Similarly, Tran Minh Duc (a final year student in Hanoi) said that he ordered a personalized souvenir box to give to his younger sister on the occasion of university graduation.
“In the past, I often gave flowers or teddy bears, but these gifts are quite common. This year I want to choose a more special gift, which can be kept as a souvenir of my study period,” Minh Duc said.
From passion for handicraft gifts to bustling business season
In the early days of June, Ms. Truong Thi Phuong Thao's handmade gift workshop (Hanoi) is always brightly lit until late at night. Dozens of orders for chibi statues, souvenir frames and graduation gift boxes are continuously completed to be delivered to customers in the peak season.
Few people know that Ms. Thao's current job started from a very simple hobby: making gifts for friends with her own hands.

I have loved making handmade gifts since I was in school because I am not good at expressing emotions with words. Homemade gifts help me send my feelings to the recipient," Ms. Thao shared.
During her university years, witnessing her friends graduating, she started trying to make chibi statues and clay flowers to replace traditional bouquets. The first gifts received positive feedback, gradually opening up orders from acquaintances.

Since then, she decided to develop into a store specializing in personalized gifts. Currently, products such as clay statues, souvenir frames, and graduation gift sets are the most ordered by customers, especially during the peak season of May - July.
The graduation season is the busiest time of the year, the number of applications increases about twice compared to normal days," Ms. Thao said.
What makes her attached is not only business but also the spiritual meaning of each handmade gift, where the giver sends feelings and memories to the recipient.
