Pink Show 5 fashion show features four designers: Thuan Viet, Hoai Sang, Nguyen Truong Duy and Tuan Tran.
Designer Nguyen Truong Duy had a fitting session with models, including actor couple Anh Duc - Anh Pham, two daughters of designer Do Manh Cuong.
Recently, Anh Duc and his wife went to the US for their honeymoon. The couple arranged to return to Vietnam to showcase their old-style Southern wedding dresses.
The special collection marks the return of designer Nguyen Truong Duy after 6 years. He shared about his first collection after 6 years: “I focused all my human resources and prepared for about 4.5 months. Almost all of the factory’s human resources worked day and night and overtime. I was always sleep deprived.”
Designer Nguyen Truong Duy revealed that he will bring a wedding collection inspired by orchids. The ao dai in particular is inspired by the traditional wedding dress of the South in the 2000s.
The collection's main materials are silk, taffeta. Designer Nguyen imported high-quality Organza and Satin fabrics from Korea and Italy. All designs are hand-embroidered, woven and handmade, with delicate dragon and phoenix patterns.
With this collection, on average a soiree costs 50-70 meters of fabric, some sets need to use 100 meters of fabric.
“In the West, dragon and phoenix culture is closely associated with wedding images. Dragons and phoenixes appear on both the family altar and the wedding gate,” said the designer.
Designer Nguyen Truong Duy has been pursuing design for 20 years. He is also a fashion design lecturer. In 2023, he caused a stir when he designed a dress worth 50 billion VND for a businesswoman.
The upcoming Pink Show 5 will take place on December 8 in Can Tho, at a resort.
