This morning (July 8), Chinese media reported that Chinese social networks were shocked by the incident of a 38-year-old man in the Southern Kinh pretending to be a girl, claiming to be "Red billion" to chat with thousands of young men.
After luring them to go to their private apartments, this person secretly filmed the clip and posted it on the toll collection platform to make a profit.
The suspect has been arrested and the case is being further investigated.
Notably, the videos released lasted from a few minutes to more than ten minutes, clearly showing the faces of the young men and their relationship with "Red billion".
It seemed that when the incident broke out, people who had appeared in the videos of "Red Billion" would try every way to hide their identities, delete their accounts or speak up to deny it, a male TikToker (domestic platform Douyin) proactively chose to publicly announce himself as "one of the people who were involved in the case of the Hong Billion-Nang Kinh".
According to the discussion topic on Weibo, the male TikToker did not avoid or hinted, this person even gave the title for the livestream: "City of the Nam Kinh Red billion incident", confirming that he was the main character in the story that was causing a stir on social networks.
From a victim, the male TikToker proactively turned shyness into "entertainment material" and livestreamed to earn views.
Screenshot shows the broadcast quickly attracting tens of thousands of views, accompanied by a series of mixed comments.
In Weibo's comments, most of the criticism was harsh: "This type of reputation can be used, it is really mediocre", "Winning the attention of the Hong Billion case and then going to the police station, being proud and dishonest", "This is the definition of "reverse thinking" in the social media era"...
It is no longer uncommon for a person who was involved in a moral shocking incident to proactively livestream to "report" and attract attention in the era of TikTok (Douyin), YouTube Shorts... taking the throne.
When shyness is turned into entertainment, the line between the individual and the public, between honor and benefits, is gradually erased.
