On May 6th (local time), Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum posted a photo taken with BTS members on her personal social media with greetings.
Ms. Sheinbaum wrote in Spanish: "We are very pleased to welcome BTS, one of the groups most loved by the youngest generation in Mexico. Their music and values connect Mexico and Korea," expressing a special welcome for the group.

In the published photo, 7 BTS members including RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V and Jungkook appeared inside the Presidential Palace with the President of Mexico. The members wore elegant classic suits, attracting a lot of attention.
According to local media, BTS had a meeting and intimate chat for about 40 minutes with the President, before stepping out to the balcony to directly greet fans.
At Zócalo Square in front of the Presidential Palace, tens of thousands of fans gathered and continuously chanted BTS's names. When the members appeared, the whole area exploded with cheers.
J-Hope spread out his arms to stir up the atmosphere, while Jin and Jungkook leaned forward to actively interact with fans. RM and V smiled calmly, waving their hands while showing a comfortable demeanor.
Members also used microphones to send greetings in Spanish such as: "We love you guys", "Mexico is the best!" and "See you again", thereby creating a connection with local fans.

According to estimates by the Mexico City Square management and fans, in just 5 hours after the announcement of BTS's visit was released, about 50,000 fans appeared at Zócalo Square to welcome the group.
Previously, in January, President Sheinbaum called BTS's concert in Mexico "a historic moment that Mexican youth have been waiting for for a long time".
When the ticket race for the BTS concert became too heated, she even suggested that the Korean side organize more concerts. "There are about 1 million people who want to buy tickets, but only 150,000 tickets were sold," the Mexican President emphasized.
The Mexico City Chamber of Commerce predicts that BTS's concerts will generate an economic effect of about 107.5 million USD.
BTS is expected to hold a total of 3 concert nights on May 7, 9 and 10 at Estadio GNP Seguros stadium in Mexico. All 3 performances have sold out tickets.
Meanwhile, BTS's 5th studio album "Arirang" and title track "Swim" both topped the Billboard 200 and Billboard Hot 100 charts.
