On the evening of February 13, singer Dam Vinh Hung attracted attention when he announced that he had been impersonated to commit fraud.
On his personal Facebook page, the male singer wrote: "The police are arresting many subjects. anyone who is being lured should immediately report to the police and provide relevant evidence".
The male singer added: "Dam Vinh Hung has never collected money from any fans before. Everyone should be careful! The fraud method is increasingly sophisticated, with many different card grades".
According to the reporter's investigation, the scammer created a fake Facebook account identical to Dam Vinh Hung's account, then texted the male singer's fans, lured them to buy fan cards to prove their relationship and have the opportunity to participate in exchange events. Many people who are not vigilant have "fall into the trap" and have unfairly lost money to scammers.
According to information shared by Dam Vinh Hung, impersonators offer many different card categories, from regular cards to VIP cards, with prices ranging from 30 million VND to 160 million VND.
This is not the first time Dam Vinh Hung has warned about this situation. In January this year, he also said that some websites forged his name to scam audiences into investing finances. Similarly, in 2023, Dam Vinh Hung reported that a scammer had created a fake Facebook to lure and defraud him of money.
