G-Dragon concert ticket prices compared to Kpop stars

Korean and international netizens have mixed reactions when G-Dragon announced concert ticket prices in Korea.

After many years of absence, BigBang leader G-Dragon will officially return with a solo concert called "Ubermensch". The concert in G-Dragon's World Tour 2025 will start in Korea on March 29 and 30, 2025.

The concert will be held at the Goyang Sports Stadium with a capacity of more than 41,000 seats, not including seats on the field. According to the announcement, G-Dragon's concert ticket prices range from 2.1 million to 3.8 million VND with tickets booked by fanclub members. The general price will be added by 5,000 KRW (about 100,000 VND) to each ticket at all stages.

Given these figures, many Korean netizens think the price is too high. On theqoo, some people left comments: "Oh my god, if it were held there, people would still only be able to watch a big screen, it was too expensive", "No, but Goyang Sports Stadium... Is this a real price? , "Idols are raising market prices"...

Immediately, G-Dragon's concert ticket price became a controversial topic. While many people think the price is too high, others support G-Dragon and argue that with K-Pop's global popularity and the influx of fans from all over the world, increasing ticket prices to meet high demand is understandable.

Not to mention, this price is only equivalent to the concert price of A-list Kpop stars in Korea in recent years.

Typically, in 2019, VIP tickets for BTS' "Love Yourself: Speak Yourself" concert at the Olympic Stadium in Jamsil, Seoul cost 110,000 won (1.9 million VND). By 2022, the ticket price for the group's "Permission to Dance on Stage - Seoul" concert increased to 220,000 won (3.9 million VND), held at the same location.

However, the Olympic Stadium in Jamsil has a capacity of more than 74,000 seats (not including seating on the field), nearly double the Goyang Sports Stadium where G-Dragon held the concert.

Or in 2023, Blackpink's "Born Pink" World Tour concert is priced from 121,000 KRW to 220,000 KRW (about 2.2 to 3.9 million VND). Thus, the concert price that G-Dragon offered was not much higher than the general price of Kpop.

On the other hand, the Vietnamese online community was quite surprised by the concert price of the male artist. Many people even think that this price is... too cheap.

Vietnamese fans compared that in 2023, tickets for Blackpink's "BORN PINK" concert in Hanoi cost from 1.2 million to 9.8 million VND. Of which, the number of seats costing 1.2-1.8 million VND is quite small, the common ticket price is 3.8 million to 7.8 million VND.

In May 2024, Daesung organized a Fanday Tour in Ho Chi Minh City, with ticket prices ranging from 2.5 - 5 million VND. However, Vietnamese fans think that this price is quite "easy to breathe" and the number of tickets is also spread quickly.

In general, this price is about 2-2.5 times higher than the ticket price of artists performing in Korea.

On G-Dragon fan groups, many netizens enthusiastically left comments: "Why are ticket prices in Korea so cheap", "When coming to Vietnam to perform, brother, we are ready to buy tickets", "Mong World Tour will land in Vietnam"...

In fact, concert tickets of Korean artists in Vietnam have higher prices than at home due to travel costs, equipment transportation of the crew, contracts signed with outside organizer... However, despite the high price, many fans are still eagerly waiting for G-Dragon to actually hold a concert in Vietnam.
