On December 15, a press conference to launch a new film of the Disney+ platform "Made in Korea" took place in Seoul (Korea).
Made in Korea is set in the 1970s, revolving around Baek Ki Tae (Hyun Bin) - a man who reached the pinnacle of power and wealth by considering the country as a model of profit.
Chasing him is prosecutor Jang Geon Young (Jung Woo Sung), creating a tense confrontation in the context of important historical events.
The film is directed by Woo Min Ho - the person behind highly appreciated works such as "The Man Standing Next", " inside Men", and previously collaborated with Hyun Bin in "Harbin" - the work that helped him win Best Actor at the 2025 Blue Dragon Film Awards.
Hyun Bins character Baek Ki Tae is a director of the Central Intelligence Agency of South Korea. He is a shrewd intelligence officer, caught up in the spiral of greed and the desire for power. This character lives a life of two dangers: during the day he is an undercover agent, at night he is a drug trafficker.
Participating in a film produced by an online platform for the first time, Hyun Bin said he was very excited to meet a global audience. He also expressed his trust in director Woo Min Ho when the two had a second collaboration.
Hyun Bin shared that in the previous film Harbin, he was under great pressure when playing a great figure in the history of the nation. Made in Korea is another fairy tale, so this work also brings another interesting challenge.
The story allows more creative space, and developing characters freely with the director is a very valuable experience, said Hyun Bin.

The 43-year-old actor revealed that with Harbin, the director once asked him to reduce both fat and muscle to suit the character. But with "Made in Korea", Hyun Bin had to completely change his appearance.
"Compared to that time, I have gained about 13-14kg. The character of the Central Intelligence Agency - one of the most fearsome organizations - I wanted to express a strong sense of power and presence right from the perspective.
I practice to gain muscle, but not too strict about diet like other roles. Of all the characters I have played, this is the time when I have the biggest figure. I still almost maintain that figure.
This is also the first time director Woo Min Ho has tried his hand at directing an online drama. However, he emphasized: I film each episode in the spirit of making a movie. Although I don't have clear rules, I focus more on selecting and emphasizing the points when filming."
The director confidently stated: Korea has many excellent TV series, but I believe that this work can be completely guaranteed in terms of quality.
Made in Korea has a total of 6 episodes, and will premiere on Disney+ from December 24.
