Not only a place to connect trade, the First Autumn Fair 2025 is also an emotional cultural meeting place, where traditional arts are honored and spread.
The Tuong artists of the Vietnam National Traditional Theater have many activities within the framework of the fair, from October 26 to November 4, including performances, displaying costumes and props of Tuong art, concert and musical instruments, and painting masks. In particular, the troupe brought many special performances on October 31.
The performance arts area of traditional arts organized by the Department of Performing Arts (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) has attracted a large number of visitors. Although the weather has rained and turned cold in recent days in Hanoi, there are still many tourists coming to enjoy Tuong performances imbued with Vietnamese culture.
The artists performed all day on October 31, including the classic Tuong excerpt "The old man carries his wife to the festival" and the excerpt "The King's name on the flag".
According to Meritorious Artist Loc Huyen, these two excerpts are a familiar traditional performance of the Theater. However, to suit the fair atmosphere, where there are many different audiences and classes of audiences, the artists have made new adjustments and creations.
" Specifically, before the performance of "Old man carrying his wife to a festival", we combined additional love songs, courtesans, betel requests, flag dances... to create a joyful and close festival atmosphere. Then came the appearance of the main characters in Tuong's excerpt.
Thanks to this treatment, the performance has both maintained its traditional identity and become more accessible to the general public. When brought to the fair space, the play is different from the classical stage, but still creates attraction, making viewers feel closer and more excited," Meritorious Artist Loc Huyen shared.
As for the excerpt "The King's Compass", this is a work bearing a strong mark on the history of the nation.
When performed at the fair, the performance attracted a large audience from tourists from all over the world, women's unions, veterans to businesses and local people. Everyone attentively followed and expressed their excitement and emotion at the performance.
Many tourists shared that when watching the excerpt, they felt proud and appreciated the indomitable spirit of the Vietnamese people, especially the image of a brave and resilient Vietnamese woman clearly portrayed through female general Hai Ba Trung.
In addition to performances by Tuong artists, within the framework of the 2025 Autumn Fair, a series of special art programs are held every day, with the participation of many artistic units. These include the Vietnam puppetry Theater and the Vietnam National Song, Dance and Music Theater (October 26); the Vietnam puppetry Theater and the Vietnam Music and Drama Theater (October 27); the Vietnam Circus Federation (October 28); the Vietnam Youth Theater (October 29).
In addition, there are performances by the Vietnam National Song, Dance and Music Theater and the Vietnam Circus Federation (October 30); the Vietnam National Traditional Stage Theater (with excerpts from Cai Luong and Tuong) (1.11); the Vietnam Circus Federation (1.11); the Vietnam National Traditional Stage Theater (Tuong) and the Vietnam National Song, Dance and Music Theater (3.11).
According to the Organizing Committee, the 2025 Autumn Fair taking place in Hanoi is considered an opportunity to promote the development of Vietnamese cultural industries, promote creativity as well as invest in the market of Vietnamese cultural industries.
The fair with the message "Connecting People with Production - Business" takes place at the National Exhibition Center (VEC) from October 25 to November 4.
