Rose (Blackpink) breaks the Spotify record that Jennie just set

In less than a week, the monthly listener record for a female Kpop artist was broken by Rose.

On November 4, Rose (Blackpink)'s Spotify account recorded 40,116,624 monthly listeners. This made Rose the female Kpop artist with the highest number of monthly listeners in Spotify history.

Notably, this record was just set by Jennie (Blackpink) last week with 37.7 million listeners. Jennie's monthly listenership has also increased to 39 million as of November 4.

But it took Rose less than a week to surpass her groupmate. In all of Kpop, Rose is only behind BTS (45.8 million) and Jungkook (40.7 million).

Rose's monthly listenership on the world's largest music streaming platform surged after she released the song “APT.” with Bruno Mars.

Before “APT.” was released, Rose’s account maintained nearly 3 million monthly listeners, with the songs “On The Ground” and “Gone.” After just 17 days, the number of listeners skyrocketed to over 40 million.

For the past week, Rose's account has been steadily increasing by about 1.5 million monthly listeners every day. Therefore, Rose is expected to soon surpass Jungkook and closely follow BTS's No. 1 position.

In addition, “APT.” has now maintained the No. 1 position on the global Spotify chart for 15 consecutive days, and has been ranked No. 1 on Apple Music globally and iTunes globally for the 11th day.

“APT.” spent its second consecutive week at the top of the Billboard global charts, Global 200 and Global Excl. US (outside the US), making Rose the first female Kpop solo artist to do so.
