Recently, Rose from Blackpink appeared on the famous Korean variety show "You Quiz on the Block", broadcast on tvN, hosted by 2 MCs Yoo Jae Suk and Jo Se Ho.
In the program, the female idol shared many different stories throughout her music career and even burst into tears when talking about her youth.
After passing YG Entertainment's audition in Australia, Rose moved to Korea alone at the age of 16. She recalled the difficult time as a Kpop trainee and the motivation to debut in the group Blackpink.
I cried every night and called my parents on video. My father told me to return to Australia if things were too difficult, but I knew it was not true. I told myself that I would not leave Korea until I achieved my dream of becoming a singer.
Many people (in my hometown) asked me what I would do, and they did not understand me. I just told them, Lack to see. Therefore, I cannot accept returning without achieving anything. That became my motivation - Rose shared.
During her years of practicing with the other members, Rose thought she was the worst trainee, so she kept practicing hard. She still remembers the happy moment when she was first praised.
At that time, I always thought I was the worst trainee. We were in the same room, and I lacked confidence, I couldn't practice as much as I wanted.
So I needed some time without anyone around me to be able to do whatever I wanted. I remember that I was very proud to have practiced until the sunrise. Now looking back at my internship, I find myself very cool.
I still remember the first time I was praised in a dance class. Lisa dances very well, so I thought I had to learn from Lisa, I practiced a lot. One day, after finishing the class, the teacher said: "let's applaud Lisa and Chaeyoung".
I felt like my dream had come true when my name was called Lisa - the female singer recalled.
As for the most memorable moment during the promotional process with Blackpink, Rose chose to perform at the Coachella music festival in 2019, as the first Korean girl group to do so.
Rose shared: "I was very worried. Coachella is known as a festival where many music lovers participate, and I think we may not get much love here.
No Korean girl group has ever performed at this festival, so I was worried that people wouldn't come to see us. In the hotel room, I imagined the worst situation and thought, Even if there are 30 people out there, lets have fun.
However, things were completely different.
I got goosebumps when we went on stage after the introduction. I was confused about whether all these people were here to see us perform. I couldn't believe that the audience was there until the end" - Rose recalled Blackpink's "historic" moment, helping the group make a big mark in the US market.
