Recently, i-D magazine introduced female singer Rose (Blackpink) as its latest cover star.
In an interview with i-D, Rose shared about the production process of her solo album “rosie” and the messages she wanted to convey. Notably, the Blackpink member mentioned American artist Taylor Swift.
Rose revealed that in the process of building her solo career and composing new songs, she received help from Taylor Swift.
“I said I was a huge fan of hers, and I had some questions. As soon as she saw me, she said, ‘Come on, let me help you.’”
She shared her experiences with me and was very willing to help me. She gave me her phone number and said, “Let me know if you have any questions.”
I really appreciate her during my weak times. She is such a wonderful person, a girl's girl. She advises me, be careful about this, that, and that, be very careful.
She tried so hard to protect me. When I was on my own, becoming independent, it wasn't easy. There were so many things I had to be careful about, and she taught me everything I needed to pay attention to. It was the best thing, she was good at it and was so kind to guide me through it" - Rose shared.
Taylor Swift and Rose's relationship gained attention last September, when Rose was spotted leaving the Electric Lady Studios recording studio at the same time as Taylor, during a business trip to New York, USA.
International media revealed that it was the launch party and preview of Taylor Swift's new album, with the participation of Rose and some artists close to Taylor such as Hayley Williams, Sabrina Carpenter, Cara Delevingne, Gracie Abrams, Sadie Sink, Margaret Qualley, Karen Elson, Jack Antonoff...
Earlier this February, Rose attended Taylor's The Eras Tour concert in Tokyo, Japan. She was seated in the special guest seat. The Kpop star excitedly recorded the moment cheering for Taylor like a true fan.
In April, Rose showed off on her personal page that she received a gift from Taylor Swift, which was the album "The Tortured Poets Department" that the female singer had just released.
Along with the album, Taylor Swift wrote a handwritten letter to Rose: “To my members of The Tortured Poets Department. This is my little token of gratitude to you, for your support, sincerely. I hope you will welcome this album into your life.”
Rose also responded and expressed her emotion with the meaningful gift: "Thank you Taylor Swift, I'm about to cry."
Paper magazine commented that Rose's upcoming album "rosie" is "a pop album with Swift-style intimate storytelling nuances".
The album will be officially released on December 6, 2024.
