In a recent live broadcast on the Weverse platform, V (Kim Taehyung) of BTS shared openly about the risks related to the chaos at the airport caused by some fans, during the male singer's overseas schedule.
Recently, V and the BTS members have continuously had schedules to work abroad, but instead of spending time for the media, press and fans to take photos before boarding the plane as usual, V refused this.
The male singer explained that the reason he refused to take photos was because he was worried about the risk of unsafety at the airport when fans gathered in large numbers, including extreme fans who defied regulations to be able to get closer to their idols, endangering both artists and others.
He emphasized: "The airport is not ours," once again reminded fans to respect public spaces.
In early July, when V left for France to make his first trip after his military discharge, he encountered fans jostling and pushing him at the airport. The chaotic scene caused the male singer to panic, almost fall and had to send a reminder to fans as soon as they boarded the plane.
Notably, during the broadcast, V suggested that BTS fans bring the "Purple Line" campaign back. This is an initiative initiated by fans for the first time in 2018.
During that campaign, a group of fans lined up, holding a purple ribbon, a color symbolizing BTS, to ensure the members could move safely at the airport.
"If fans can bring the Purple Line back and keep everything safe and orderly, it would be great. After that, I can think more carefully about what to wear to the airport, even if it is a suit, V said.
V enlisted in December 2023 and served for 18 months in the Special Forces under the Army Military Police Corps. He was discharged from the army on June 10, 2025, at the 2nd Corps in Chuncheon, Gangwon Province (Korea).
V is working with the BTS members to go to the US to produce a new album for the group, scheduled to be released in the spring of 2026. The comeback schedule with a full 7-member group of BTS has not been announced yet.
