The Central Youth Union has just announced a list of 10 Outstanding Young Faces of Vietnam and 8 Promising Young Faces of Vietnam in 2024.
The award aims to honor outstanding young people no more than 35 years old, with outstanding achievements in 9 fields: Learning, scientific research, production labor, startup business, national defense, security and order, physical education and sports, culture and arts and social activities.
In the field of study, there are 2 students honored, including:
Nguyen Huu Tien Hung, student of Hanoi Medical University, and Than The Cong, student of Hanoi University of Science and Technology. Both were born in 2006.
Nguyen Huu Tien Hung is a former student of Bac Ninh High School for the Gifted. Male students won the Gold Medal of the 2024 International Chemistry Olympiad, the National First Prize in Chemistry in 2024; the National Second Prize in Chemistry in the 2022-2023 school year; the Gold Medal of the International Chemistry Olympiad held in Uzbekistan in 2022-2023; the Gold Medal of the exchange contest of coastal schools in the 2022-2023 school year.
Than The Cong is a former student of Bac Giang High School for the Gifted, Gold Medal in the 2024 International Physics Olympiad, Gold Medal in the 2023 Asian Physics Olympiad; First Prize in the 2024 and 2023 National Excellent Student Competition; Gold Medal in the Physics Excellent Student Competition of High Schools specializing in the coastal and Northern Delta region in 2023.
Hung and Cong were both awarded the Second Class Labor Medal.
In the field of scientific research, 2 PhDs were honored at private universities.
The remaining 6 faces include: Hoang Khac Hieu (born in 1996) Head of Development Department 2, Government Solutions Center (Viettel Solutions), Viettel Group; Captain Nguyen Hoang Hai Quang (born in 1995), Deputy Captain, Chief of Staff of Company 1, Regiment 925, Division 372, Air Defense - Air Force; Captain Tran Vinh Chien (born in 1994), Deputy Captain of Team 3 of the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department of Ho Chi Minh City Police; shooter Trinh Vin Thuh (born in 2000); singer Soobin Hoang Son (Nguyen Huynh Son, born in 1992); Phung Quang Trung (born in 1996), Head of the Skyline Photo restoration team.
The 2024 Outstanding Young Faces of Vietnam ceremony is scheduled to take place on the evening of January 23 in Hanoi. Regarding bonuses, in addition to the Certificate of Merit of the Central Executive Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union; individuals will also receive cash bonuses: For Outstanding Vietnamese Young Faces in 2024, it is 50 million VND/person; 20 million VND/person for Promising Vietnamese Young Faces in 2024.
