Preserving forest ecosystems
Located in the Phong Nha - Ke Bang World Natural Heritage complex, the Center for Rescue, Conservation and Development of Organisms is not only a place to receive and care for injured or illegally traded wildlife individuals, but also plays an important role in the conservation of the biodiversity of the region.
According to the Center, from the beginning of 2026 to February 25, the unit is taking care of 65 wild animal individuals of various species. These individuals are being monitored for health, behavioral rehabilitation and adaptability assessment before considering re-release to the natural environment.

Talking to reporters, Mr. Tran Ngoc Anh - Director of the Center for Rescue, Conservation and Development of Organisms said that wildlife rescue and conservation work in Phong Nha - Ke Bang is always carried out according to strict professional procedures to ensure the recovery and adaptability of individuals when returning to nature.
In addition to animal rescue tasks, the Center also coordinates with relevant units of Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park to implement many activities to conserve forest ecosystems.
Recently, the unit participated in organizing the Tet tree planting ceremony to forever remember Uncle Ho, planting many precious native trees such as Giang huong, Lim xanh and Vu huong in the Botanical Garden area, contributing to restoring the ecosystem and enhancing the biodiversity value of the heritage forest.
Sustainable conservation
Many environmental education activities have been integrated through sightseeing and experiential programs at the Ecotourism Point and environmental explanation at the Botanical Garden managed by the unit.
Here, tourists and students are introduced to tropical forest ecosystems, biological characteristics of typical animal and plant species as well as threats to biodiversity.
Through environmental interpretation activities, visitors not only learn about the value of the forest ecosystem but also raise awareness of nature protection, limiting negative behaviors that affect wildlife and their habitat.

According to the Center's leaders, environmental education is considered one of the important solutions to create a change in community awareness and action in nature conservation.
We hope that every visitor when coming here will not only visit but also understand more about the value of nature, thereby raising awareness of preserving and promoting the value of biodiversity" - Mr. Tran Ngoc Anh shared.
In the coming time, the Center for Rescue, Conservation and Development of Organisms will deploy the construction of a database to serve digital transformation in management, monitoring and conservation of animal and plant species, and at the same time develop an ecotourism model associated with environmental interpretation to create more resources for conservation activities.
Phong Nha - Ke Bang is known as one of the areas with high biodiversity in Vietnam, home to many rare animal and plant species.
Therefore, strengthening the connection of conservation activities with environmental education is considered a long-term solution to protect, preserve and sustainably develop the forest ecosystem of the World Natural Heritage.
