Currently, primary schools are implementing a model of cooperation with external educational institutions to open boarding classes for the second session. Therefore, parents are interested in the management and supervision of the authorities. Thereby, ensuring the material conditions and safety for students during the process of moving and studying at the boarding facility.
Regarding the above content, the Department of Education and Training of Binh Duong province said that according to the requirements of the 2018 general education program, 2 sessions/day must be taught.
The Department of Education and Training of Binh Duong province has advised the province on many solutions to plan the school network to prepare for the innovation of the primary education program, but it still cannot keep up with the mechanical growth rate in the province.
The province currently has 30 out of 149 primary schools that still organize one session per day. This has led to a situation where parents who need to work all day want to send their children to school the other day, and there are boarding facilities for children to take lessons outside of school. The province has 73 boarding facilities in operation.
Regarding management, the Department of Education and Training of Binh Duong province said that it has requested the education and training departments to advise the People's Committees of districts and cities based on actual conditions to give specific instructions on organizing boarding and off-school review for students in classes 1 session/day.
The education departments temporarily inspect and license facilities such as review and cultural training centers. At the same time, coordinate with relevant departments to manage, monitor and inspect the operations of facilities to ensure safety for students according to regulations.
In addition, schools with students sent to these boarding facilities must strengthen coordination to closely manage activities and student movement to facilities to ensure safety.
In the 2022-2023 school year, the Department of Education and Training of Binh Duong province has established a team to inspect the operations of facilities licensed by the Department of Education and Training in Thuan An and Di An cities and provide advice on documents and safety work according to regulations.
According to the plan, in the 2024-2025 school year, the Department of Education and Training of Binh Duong province will continue to inspect this topic.
New legal corridor needed to inspect spontaneous boarding facilities
The Department of Education and Training of Binh Duong province said that the regulations on extra teaching and learning of the Ministry of Education and Training have expired. Therefore, some localities have not been bold in the inspection and licensing work, leading to spontaneous operation of facilities that do not ensure safety for students.
Currently, the Department of Education and Training of Binh Duong province is drafting a document to submit to the Ministry of Education and Training, the People's Committee of Binh Duong province to issue a directive document, assigning the People's Committees of districts and cities to direct the inspection of safety conditions, license private facilities for boarding and out-of-school review; strengthen the management of the activities of these facilities to serve as a basis for operations in the coming time.
If you study at a boarding school, you will not have to take extra classes at night.
In the guidance document of the Department of Education and Training of Binh Duong province, it is emphasized that no extra teaching is allowed for students whose schools have organized two sessions per day. No extra teaching is allowed for primary school students (except for cases of training in arts, sports, and life skills).
