The Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) has just sent a document to affiliated and directly affiliated units; Departments of Education and Training; higher education institutions, vocational education colleges on organizing the 2026 Binh Ngo Lunar New Year.
Accordingly, the Ministry of Education and Training requests units to thoroughly grasp and strictly implement the regulations of the Secretariat and the Prime Minister on organizing the Binh Ngo Lunar New Year 2026 to be joyful, healthy, safe, and economical; promote the responsibility of heads, and be ready to respond to all situations.
Units need to strengthen propaganda and education for students to implement civilized lifestyles, preserve traditional national cultural identity; maintain social order and safety, comply with traffic safety laws; prevent social evils, ensure safety, especially safety in cyberspace; effectively implement measures to prevent and control epidemics and injuries.

The Ministry of Education and Training also requests units to propagate and educate students to absolutely not participate in the production, trading, transportation, storage, and illegal use of weapons, explosives, supporting tools and firecrackers, and electronic cigarettes; strictly implement regulations on the management and use of firecrackers. At the same time, have solutions to ensure strict implementation of the 2025-2026 school year task plan immediately after the Lunar New Year holiday.
In addition, units proactively and plan to organize thoughtfully the Tet celebration for students in difficult circumstances who do not have the conditions to return to their hometowns to celebrate Tet with their families. Pay attention to caring for officials, civil servants, and public employees of the Education sector, especially families in difficult circumstances, remote areas, border areas, islands, ethnic minority areas and mountainous areas.
The Ministry of Education and Training also requests not to organize visits and Tet greetings to superiors and leaders at all levels; strictly prohibit using public funds to give Tet gifts to leaders at all levels in any form. Leaders at all levels only attend pagodas and festivals when assigned; do not participate in superstitious and superstitious activities; do not use state budget, vehicles, and public assets against regulations. Cadres, party members, especially heads of agencies and units, must truly set an example in implementing spring joy, welcoming Tet healthily, safely, and economically.
Units need to well implement the management and organization of festivals according to regulations, ensuring that festival activities, spring celebrations, traditional day celebrations, year-end conferences, year-end meetings, tree planting Tet... are practical, safe, economical, suitable for civilized lifestyles, cultural traditions of the nation and good customs and habits of each locality.
The Ministry of Education and Training reminds heads of agencies and units to maintain Tet duty schedules to handle and resolve all tasks promptly and strictly implement the information and reporting regime, ensuring smooth operation during the Tet holiday; promptly report outstanding and arising issues (if any).
In addition, the Ministry of Education and Training requests units to proactively contact and coordinate with passenger transport businesses to organize the sale of train and bus tickets at schools for students returning for Tet holiday. Arrange holidays and concentrate after Tet for students appropriately to reduce traffic pressure before, during and after the Lunar New Year.
