According to statistics from the functional sector of Thanh Hoa province, due to the impact of storm No. 5, the province has suffered quite heavy damage due to flooding, landslides, and flash floods. Of which, in the education sector alone, about 40 schools were affected, many of which were severely damaged.

Speaking to Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Do Xuan Son - Principal of Tam Thanh Primary School (Tam Thanh Commune, Thanh Hoa Province) - said: "Due to storm No. 5, a branch school in Cha Lung village suffered heavy damage due to landslides and mud flooding the school area".
According to Mr. Son, on August 26, storms and floods caused landslides, causing hundreds of cubic meters of rock and soil to flow into the schoolyard. Immediately after the flood stopped, the school mobilized forces, coordinated with the government and functional units to urgently overcome the consequences.
"On August 28, excavators and trucks will be able to reach the school to clean up. By August 31, the mud repair work had been basically completed, said Mr. Son.
According to Mr. Son, in addition to mobilizing machinery to work day and night, there was also the participation of soldiers, police, militia, all teachers and parents to clean up together, in order to "racce against time" to meet the opening day.
Up to now (September 3), the repair at the school has almost been completed, only a few stains of dirt, collapsed walls and subsided 2 classroom floors will continue to be handled. The opening ceremony and new school year at the school still took place as planned.

Slight damage was caused, at Tam Thanh Kindergarten, only mud and soil were dumped. However, immediately after the flood stopped, the school mobilized all teachers and staff to coordinate with the authorities to urgently clean up and sanitize the campus. "Currently, the repair work has been completed, ready to welcome children on the upcoming opening day" - said the leader of Tam Thanh Kindergarten.
Similarly, in Yen Khuong commune, storm No. 5 also caused the school in Hang village to be covered with mud and gravel. A representative of Yen Khuong Commune People's Committee said: "After the flood, the locality mobilized forces, coordinated with soldiers, police, and militia to clear rocks and soil. Up to now (September 3), the work has been completed, the school is fully prepared to be ready for the upcoming opening day".
