On July 23, Standing Deputy Secretary of Cao Bang Provincial Party Committee Be Thanh Tinh chaired a conference on arranging the school network and preparing for the 2026-2027 school year.
According to reports, Cao Bang province currently has 515 public educational institutions with 668 school sites.
After arrangement, the number of educational institutions is expected to decrease from 515 to 321, equivalent to a reduction of 193 institutions (37.54%), exceeding the minimum streamlining target by 30%.
The arrangement is striving to be completed before August 30, 2026 to be ready for the opening of the new school year.
In 2026, the Education sector will be allocated more than 2,761 billion VND to invest in school facilities, of which about 2,202 billion VND is for 11 inter-level boarding schools in border communes, and nearly 450 billion VND to purchase teaching equipment.

According to the Management Board of Investment and Construction Projects of Cao Bang province, a multi-level boarding general education school in the border commune is expected to be fully completed before August 30.
Seven schools basically meet the conditions for organizing teaching and partly boarding before the new school year; two schools are still facing difficulties, in the immediate future ensuring teaching items.
The scale of 11 schools is expected to include 317 classes with nearly 12,000 students. The Department of Education and Training has arranged 33 management staff and 728 teachers, and at the same time continues to mobilize and assign teachers to ensure stable operation.
Concluding the conference, Mr. Be Thanh Tinh requested levels and sectors to accelerate the progress of arranging schools and classes, completing facilities, staff, equipment and necessary conditions before the new school year.
For 11 inter-level boarding schools in the border area, construction must ensure quality and safety, not run after the schedule and loosen management.
The goal is to complete the conditions before August 30, 2026, and put the schools into operation on schedule.
