According to the submission, the province proposed 3 options. Option 1 is built according to the initial orientation, reducing 30 - 50% of the number of establishments.
School blocks under the People's Committees of communes and wards decreased from 1,698 to 843, i.e., a decrease of 855 facilities, equivalent to 50.4%. Units under the Department of Education and Training decreased from 158 to 136.
Option 2 is implemented according to the new direction of the Central Government. Accordingly, each commune and ward has one kindergarten, one primary school, one secondary school or one kindergarten and one multi-level high school.
With this option, the total number of educational institutions will decrease from 1,861 to 586, which is a decrease of 1,275 institutions, equivalent to 68.4%.
The block under the People's Committees of communes and wards decreased from 1,698 to 461, equivalent to a decrease of 72.9%.
Option 3 also meets the requirements of streamlining according to the new direction, but takes into account the specific characteristics of Phu Tho.
The total number of establishments after arrangement is 609, a decrease of 1,252 establishments, equivalent to 67.3%. The block under the People's Committees of communes and wards is 474, a decrease of 72.1%.
According to this plan, the whole province is expected to have 149 kindergartens, 141 primary schools, 162 secondary schools and 22 inter-level primary - secondary schools.
The Party Committee of Phu Tho Provincial People's Committee proposed to choose option 3. The reason is that this option still ensures the requirements of streamlining, while taking into account the scale of students, terrain characteristics, travel distance and management capacity at the grassroots level.
Choosing option 3 is also aimed at limiting mechanical arrangement, avoiding the formation of schools with too large scale, causing difficulties for management and teaching organization.
Currently, many localities in the province are also ready to arrange schools.
Talking to Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Chinh, Vice Chairman of Muong Dong Commune People's Committee, Phu Tho province, said that on the afternoon of August 20, the commune had a meeting with school leaders on arranging schools. Basically, the commune will wait for official instructions from the province.
Regarding the current plan after arrangement, Muong Dong commune still has 3 public schools, a decrease of 8 schools compared to before the arrangement was implemented.
