In order to bring a realistic perspective on the professional journey of young teachers with the joys, determination and lessons drawn from teaching practice, on December 13, the IPER Publishing and Education Research Center organized a launching and exchange of authors of the book "Young Teachers and Career Stories".
The book by author Tran Thanh Vu is aimed at new teachers, facing the first shocks in a real teaching environment - where pedagogical theory, little experience and strange school culture force them to roam their own path and mature on their journey to become teachers.
Sharing at the event, Mr. Trinh Minh Tuan - Director of Quang Van Publishing and Education Joint Stock Company, Ehomebooks and IPER Publishing - Education Research Center said: "When reading the book "Young Teachers and Career Stories", 10 stories told by the author helped me meet myself 20 years ago. At that time, I had to struggle between making compromises with reality or daring to follow my own differences. After 1 year, I chose to leave the teaching profession".

According to Mr. Tuan, education not only has positive stories but also contains many fates, identities and concerns. In particular, IPER's mission is to provide publications for both teachers and learners with a pioneering, creative spirit, daring to innovate.
"A country or an organization can only change when education changes. Obviously, the center of the education system is still the team of teachers" - Mr. Tuan commented.
Talking to Lao Dong Newspaper, Dr. Tran Thanh Vu - author of the book - explained the phrase "Young Teacher" in the title. According to him, the teaching profession consists of three stages: the stage of adapting to the profession; the stage of learning, training to survive and develop and the stage of preparing for retirement.

"Children here do not mean age but the age of the profession. This is the period when teachers are most enthusiastic and dynamic, but it is also the time when up to 90% of teachers choose to leave their jobs" - the author said.
The book's central content is emphasized by Dr. Tran Thanh Vu as the practical shocks of new teachers in the first few years - where pedagogical theory, limited experience and strange school culture force them to strive to become teachers and mature on their journey.
Author Thanh Vu said that the real shocks appeared because the training process with the reality of the classroom not being compatible with each other, "learning one by one and teaching the other". The real shock occurred because newly graduated teachers had too many expectations or misunderstood the reality of teaching.
The book "Young Teachers and Career Stories" not only outlines the stories of 10 teachers nationwide but is also based on some research conducted directly by newly admitted teachers.
In each chapter and book, which consists of 2 parts, in addition to the materials collected by the author, Dr. Tran Thanh Vu gives commentary analysis from the perspective of an educational researcher.
Dr. Tran Thanh Vu compared the real shock of young teachers to an emotional backpacking trip, while the book is a "safe belt" that helps readers be more confident in their professional journey.

"Real shock can be completely faced and overcome if the teacher understands it well. The teaching profession is a rare profession that you can observe for 14-15 years, through your own teachers" - the author expressed.
