On May 17, the Recruitment Council of the Program to attract outstanding young scientists and leading scientists to work at Ho Chi Minh City National University (VNU350 Program, Round 1, 2025) approved a list of 39 candidates who meet the requirements and standards to attend interviews at the units.
Accordingly, the University of Technology has the largest number of candidates with 24 people, followed by the University of Natural Sciences with 11 candidates, the University of Economics and Law with 3 candidates and the University of Health Sciences with 1 candidate.
The candidates on this list are PhD graduates from prestigious training institutions in the world such as: Keio University (Japan), University of Virginia (USA), Singapore National University (Singapore), ... along with many other prestigious universities in Korea, Taiwan (China), Canada, Hungary, Russia, Australia, Thailand and Denmark.
Ho Chi Minh City National University aims to recruit 350 scientists under the VNU350 Program by 2030.
To date, after the first 3 recruitment rounds, Ho Chi Minh City National University has attracted 27 scientists, including 7 graduates from universities in the top 100 in the world.
To apply for the VNU350 program, candidates must meet general conditions and standards such as: having a doctorate degree; being able to teach and research independently; having aspirations, ambitions, and desire to contribute and dedicate to the development of Ho Chi Minh City National University in particular and Vietnamese higher education in general.
For young scientists, it is necessary to meet one of the following 4 criteria: Having scientific papers published in prestigious journals and conferences; Having a certificate of invention or invention that has been successfully registered; Having science and technology products that have been transferred; Having a new, promising research direction, in line with the Development Strategy of Ho Chi Minh City National University.
For leading scientists, it is necessary to meet the following 5 criteria:
Have experience and capacity, head of the research team or laboratory manager; Assume the prime responsibility for science and technology projects and projects; There are works published in prestigious scientific journals or owned by exclusive inventions and inventions; Have experience in teaching and guiding graduate students; Have domestic and international relationships and cooperation (members of international science and technology organizations; participate in organizing international conferences and seminars; editing and criticizing articles for international magazines).
