According to Dr. Le Thi Anh Tram, the professor of guest lecturers is the title decided by the Director of VNU-HCM, working on a part-time mechanism, performing teaching and research in person or online.
The individuals invited to participate in the program are professors, associate professors, experts, scientists, managers with outstanding achievements, working at universities, research institutes, organizations internationally, technology corporations in the world; There are ambitions, aspirations and desire to contribute, build, develop education, science and technology, innovate innovation for VNU-HCM in particular and for Vietnam in general.
Regarding the appointment criteria, candidates must have outstanding achievements in teaching, researching and technology transfer, with contributions expressed through international publications, patents and technological products.
In particular, the program prioritizes the fields of biotechnology, biological medicine, chips - semiconductors, artificial intelligence, digital transformation, new materials, energy technology, new logistics, international finance, climate change and sustainable development, history, Vietnamese culture...
The guest professors will be appointed by the Director of VNU-HCM for a maximum of 5 years, a minimum of 1 year and may be extended. They will enjoy a competitive remuneration with support to travel and stay while working at VNU-HCM.
In addition, they also access modern facilities, laboratories and research resources at member schools of the University of National University of National University - Ho Chi Minh City.
Each guest professor must spend at least 10 days working directly at VNU-HCM each year; proactively plan and participate in teaching in person or online; be ready to organize scientific seminars, co-student guidance and support the development of international cooperation proposals as well as support the development of strong research groups.
According to Dr. Le Thi Anh Tram, VNU-HCM will receive the application documents from March 2025 and organize a thoroughly approved review council based on scientific capacity criteria and achievements.
Candidates who meet requirements will go through direct or online interviews before being officially appointed.
It is expected that the appointment decisions will be announced in May 2025.
