On September 1, the Office of the Thanh Hoa Department of Education and Training (GDĐT) said that, according to the plan, the opening ceremony of the 2026-2027 school year and the inauguration of inter-level boarding schools in land border communes in Thanh Hoa province will be held on the morning of September 5, according to the general time frame of the whole country.
The program is organized in a direct combined online form. Son Thuy Primary and Secondary Boarding School, Son Thuy commune, was selected as the main bridge point of the province.
From 7:00 AM to 7:30 AM on September 5th, schools will gather, stabilize organization, welcome first-grade students; organize cultural performances to welcome, introduce delegates and principals to give speeches to welcome the new school year.
From 7:30 AM to 8:30 AM, the bridge point at Son Thuy Primary and Secondary Boarding School connects online with the central bridge point through VNPT's video conferencing system, transmitting images and the opening ceremony atmosphere to the central bridge point.
The remaining educational institutions in Thanh Hoa province, based on actual conditions, will participate in the program online or watch live television on VTV1, broadcast live on VOV1.
After the general program, educational institutions continue to organize early school year activities suitable for each level of education and actual conditions; prioritizing close, practical, and student-oriented activities.
Thanh Hoa Department of Education and Training reminds schools not to extend the ceremony part, not to organize additional ceremonial speeches after the general program. The remaining time is reserved for educational activities and early school year activities of officials, teachers and students.
Son Thuy Primary & Secondary Boarding School is one of the multi-level boarding school projects invested by Thanh Hoa in the border area. The project has a scale of 30 classes, accommodating about 750 students, with a total investment of about 115 billion VND.
The project was held for the groundbreaking ceremony on August 19, 2025, and after completing investment procedures and contractor selection, officially started construction on January 10, 2026. The project implementation area is approximately 2.8ha.
According to the enrollment plan for the 2026-2027 school year of Thanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee, Son Thuy Primary & Secondary Boarding School enrolls students in Son Thuy commune and adjacent border communes that do not have boarding schools or have not implemented enrollment in this school year.
This is the first school year that the new project has been put into service for students in the border area.
