New points in the enrollment plan for medical schools in 2025

Many medical schools have announced their 2025 enrollment plans with many new points.

Tokyo Medical University Vietnam (THUV) has just announced its enrollment method for 2025.

Accordingly, in 2025, the school plans to enroll students through 3 admission methods, including a new method that combines foreign language certificates and academic records.

The school's 3 admission methods include: Admission based on the results of the 2025 high school graduation exam; admission based on the school's own plan (including direct admission based on high school academic results; review of transcripts with essays and interviews; review of transcripts with JLPT Japanese proficiency certificates); direct admission of candidates who have won national prizes.

The school plans to enroll 266 students for all majors. Of which, Nursing has 110 quotas; Rehabilitation Engineering has 80 quotas; Medical Laboratory Technology has 38 quotas; Medical Imaging Technology has 38 quotas.

The school's application period for most methods is divided into 5 periods, some methods starting from January 15, 2025 to August 3, 2025.

In 2025, Hanoi Medical University plans to basically maintain stable admission methods compared to the previous year, including:

- Method 1: Direct admission according to regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training and Hanoi Medical University

- Method 2: Consider high school graduation exam scores

- Method 3: Admission based on a combination of graduation exam scores and international language certificates

- Method 4: Based on the Hanoi National University's competency assessment test scores (HSA).

At a recent admissions consulting program in Thanh Hoa, Associate Professor, Dr. Le Dinh Tung - Vice Principal of Hanoi Medical University - said that in 2025, the school will open two new majors including Social Work and Medical Imaging Technology.

Previously, Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy announced its enrollment plan for 2025. The school will maintain the same enrollment methods as in 2024 and consider expanding the method in accordance with the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training as well as social needs.

Regarding the admission combination, the school has expanded some admission combinations for all training majors. At the same time, it has added English, Chemistry, Biology, and Physics to the admission combination of some majors.

Regarding enrollment targets, the school maintains the same targets as previous years to ensure and improve training quality.

The University of Medicine and Pharmacy (Vietnam National University, Hanoi) plans to open an additional admission method for students with a university degree to study Medicine and Pharmacy from 2025. Accordingly, for this group of students, Medicine will take 4 years and Pharmacy will take 3 years.

Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine plans to increase enrollment targets in 2025 for the following majors: Traditional Medicine (increase by 20%); Nursing (increase by 10%); Pharmacy (increase by 30%).

Regarding admission methods, the school will implement 6 admission methods in 2025: High school graduation exam results; Direct admission according to the regulations of the admission regulations; Using the results of the capacity assessment test, thinking assessment organized by other units for admission; Using only international certificates for admission; Combining high school graduation exam results with international certificates for admission; Using other methods.

Compared to 2024, the school has added 3 more admission methods. Last year, the school recruited students using 3 methods: High school graduation exam results; Direct admission; Priority admission.

Notably, Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine does not apply foreign language as a secondary criterion when considering equal scores as in 2024 and earlier.
