In 2025, candidates can use the results of the Hanoi National University of Education (SPT)'s competency assessment exam to apply to more than 20 higher education institutions (an increase of 13 units compared to 2023).
After 3 years of organization, the Hanoi National University of Education's competency assessment exam has been recognized by many schools in admissions. In 2025, in addition to the pedagogical school block, technical and medical schools will also recognize and use the exam results.
Hanoi National University of Education said that the 2025 exam will have changes to help students reduce stress and promote self-study ability.
Dr. Tran Ba Trinh, Head of Training Department, Hanoi National University of Education, said that the question formats of the Hanoi National University of Education's competency assessment exam are basically the same as the questions of the high school graduation exam. Therefore, students can review both exams at the same time. This helps them avoid anxiety when reviewing for the exam, reducing pressure. Students do not need to study or take extra lessons to do well on the exam.
“The exam aims to create opportunities for students to take more subjects, choose more admission combinations, and reduce time pressure compared to taking the exam on the same day. Candidates from different regions can also conveniently stay, increasing their chances of taking the exam,” said Mr. Tran Ba Trinh.
Exam time is 2 days 17-18.5.2025 (Saturday and Sunday).
To facilitate candidates nationwide, Hanoi National University of Education added an additional testing location at Vinh University. Thus, in 2025, there will be 4 testing locations across the North, Central and South: Vinh University; Quy Nhon University; University of Education - Danang University.

2025 is also the first year that Hanoi Pedagogical University 2 organizes its own entrance exam and uses the school's own exam results for university admission.
In addition to the separate exam, candidates can apply for admission to the school in 5 ways: Considering the results of the high school graduation exam; considering the results of the academic transcript; considering direct admission and priority for direct admission according to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training; considering admission based on the results of the capacity assessment exam of Hanoi National University and Ho Chi Minh City National University; considering admission using the results of the capacity assessment exam of Hanoi National University of Education and the specialized assessment exam of Ho Chi Minh City National University of Education.
For specialized pedagogical training majors such as preschool education, physical education, and sports management, the above methods are used, but in the admission combinations, the results of aptitude tests organized by the school are used.
Hanoi Pedagogical University 2 does not use the results of aptitude tests organized by other universities.
