How to calculate 10th grade entrance exam scores in Hanoi in 2025
The 10th grade public high school entrance exam in Hanoi for the 2025-2026 school year will take place on June 7 and 8. This is the first year that students have taken the exam according to the 2018 General Education Program, so there are many adjustments in the form and content of the exam.
Candidates take the exam in 3 compulsory subjects: Literature and Math ( thesis), Foreign Language (object multiple choice), mainly in the grade 9 program. For candidates taking the entrance exam to a specialized school, in addition to the 3 general exams, they must also take an additional specialized exam.
A new highlight in this year's exam is the way of calculating admission scores: no longer multiplying the coefficient for Math and Literature as before, but taking the total score of 3 subjects (on a scale of 10), plus priority and incentive points (if any). Admission to grade 10 - using high school as a basis for traffic flow
The 10th grade entrance exam for the 2025-2026 school year in Hanoi continues to be a tense race with more than 103,000 students registered, while the target for public high schools is about 80,000. Although the enrollment rate has increased slightly, the difficulty rate at many schools is still very high, causing great pressure for exams. Officially abolish the classification of teachers, many special benefits for teachers
The 2025 Teachers' Law, effective from January 1, 2026, is the first law specifically for the teaching staff, with the goal of overcoming shortcomings in salary policy and creating favorable conditions for teachers to work with peace of mind. A highlight is the repeal of the regulation on dividing teachers (grade I, II, III) which has caused a lot of pressure and inadequacies in the past.
According to Article 12 of the Law, the title of teacher will no longer be classified but will be determined based on qualifications, professional capacity, requirements for each level of education and specific conditions of the educational institution. The Ministry of Education and Training and the Government will issue specific instructions and roadmaps for application at each level of education.
The Law also provides many practical support policies, especially for teachers in disadvantaged areas: work allowances, health support, training, mobile allowances, accommodation support, travel and separate allowances. Teachers teaching at specialized schools, teaching children with disabilities, gifted subjects or ethnic languages also enjoy preferential policies. Nghe An Department of Education and Training speaks out about the announcement of 2.5 admission points for grade 10
Information about the benchmark score for grade 10 at Nam Dan 2 High School (Nghe An) caused a stir in public opinion after the announcement of the second round of admission was spread on social networks on July 3. Many parents are concerned about the admission criteria and input quality of public schools.
Nghe An Department of Education and Training has confirmed that in the 2025-2026 school year, Nam Dan 2 High School was assigned a target of 450 grade 10 students. In the first phase, the school recruited more than 400 students, some of whom achieved 27.75 points. Round 2 aims to recruit additional 31 remaining targets. Of these, only 1 candidate has an admission score of 2.5 points. This is not a common benchmark.
The Department affirmed that the additional admission process still complies with regulations, ensures publicity and is based on registration wishes.
