Regimes for teachers who wish to resign when merging schools
As of August 26, most localities across the country have announced plans to arrange educational institutions in the area. Along with the school merger, the settlement of benefits for redundant staff is also of particular concern to localities.
Among the plans for arranging and merging schools announced by the locality, many personnel plans cite Decree 154/2025/ND-CP to resolve the regime for principals, vice principals, teachers, and redundant staff.
Excess personnel subject to staff streamlining when merging schools, if they voluntarily resign and are approved by competent authorities, will be entitled to severance allowances and insurance policies according to the provisions of Decree 154/2025/ND-CP regulating staff streamlining.
According to Article 8 of Decree 154/2025/ND-CP, subjects who have not reached retirement age and do not meet the conditions to enjoy the early retirement policy specified in Article 6 of this Decree, if they quit immediately, they are entitled to the following regimes:
Beneficiaries will receive a 3-month salary allowance to find a job; An allowance of 1.5 months of current salary for each year of work with compulsory social insurance contributions. Regarding the case of PennSchool school on Ba Thang Hai street suddenly stopping operations on the day students return to school, Hoa Hung ward said that schools in the area are still capable of receiving all more than 400 students at this facility.

Khanh Hoa plans to exempt textbooks for more than 440,000 students
On August 26, Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee said that it had just submitted a report to the Provincial People's Council on the draft Resolution on implementing the policy of free textbooks for students in the area from the 2026-2027 school year.

According to the draft, the policy of free textbooks will be applied from the 2026 - 2027 school year to general education students and learners at educational institutions in Khanh Hoa province.
Subjects eligible for policies include learners under the General Education Program, the Continuing Education Program at the lower secondary school level, the upper secondary school level and the Illiteracy Eradication Program. See more...
