English teacher corrects exam paper, reduces score of a series of students proposed for disciplinary action
The Department of Culture and Society of Quy Nhon Nam ward (Gia Lai) determined that English teacher T.T.K.N of Nguyen Van Cu Elementary School had edited the end-of-semester test, the 2025-2026 school year of many students, changing the results and lowering the score. This act was assessed as violating the Law on Public Employees, the Law on Teachers and regulations on teacher ethics.
From the verification results, the Department of Culture and Society requested the school principal to organize a review, clarify the purpose and extent of the teacher's violations; and at the same time fully implement the disciplinary process according to regulations and report the results to the Ward People's Committee before January 30. The school has temporarily suspended Ms. N.'s teaching work for further verification.

Nearly 17,000 candidates take the mindset assessment exam to compete for admission to university in 2026
In two days, January 24-25, 2026, nearly 17,000 candidates participated in the first phase of the thinking assessment (TSA) exam of Hanoi University of Science and Technology, of which about 12% are 10th and 11th grade students. Many candidates consider the TSA results as an important ticket for university admission, especially Hanoi University of Science and Technology, and combine them with other methods such as the high school graduation exam or competency assessment.
The exam is organized with 3 exam teams at 28 exam sites in Hanoi and 10 provinces, of which the largest number of candidates is at Hanoi University of Science and Technology. The school has upgraded the system, computer rooms and deployed automatic check-in to serve candidates. The exam structure remains stable, the content is updated according to the new program. Ministry of Education and Training responds to reflections on unfairness when considering teacher emulation in subjects
Some subject teachers reflect that the consideration of emulation and promotion is currently unfair compared to homeroom teachers, because the criteria "excellently completing tasks" are often associated with homeroom class achievements. Because they do not work as homeroom teachers, subject teachers, even if they teach well and actively participate in the movement, still find it difficult to achieve high rankings, leading to not being eligible for consideration for emulation titles and professional title promotion.
Answering the proposal, the Ministry of Education and Training said that the current regulations on professional title standards for teachers (which have been amended and supplemented) do not distinguish between homeroom teachers or subject teachers, nor do they distinguish between teachers teaching cultural or specialized subjects. Promotion consideration is carried out uniformly according to general regulations, without setting specific conditions that are disadvantageous to subject teachers.
The Ministry of Education and Training emphasized that, according to legal regulations, each educational institution must develop and promulgate regulations on evaluating and ranking civil servants suitable to the specific characteristics of each job position, ensuring objectivity and fairness.
