New direction of the Prime Minister on high school graduation exams and primary admissions
On August 8, the Prime Minister issued Capital No. 58/CD-TTg on the organization of the high school graduation exam and the enrollment of general education in 2025. This is the first year the exam was organized under the 2018 general education program with many innovation points, and took place in the context of the whole country to arrange the local government apparatus and the number of examination systems, with the number of candidates increasing the education program of both the educational program in 2006. Organizing exams and first enrollments must be carefully and comprehensive.
The Prime Minister requested localities and the education sector to strictly implement the direction in the spirit of "6 clear": clear people, clear work, clear responsibilities, clear authority, clear time, clear results. Every stage must be strictly managed, with a backup plan and specific responsible people, not allowing loopholes, fraud or unsafety. 31% of teachers in Ho Chi Minh City have English proficiency below B1
The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training has just announced the results of an English proficiency survey of nearly 50,300 public teachers from primary to high school, including about 4,700 English teachers. The survey was conducted from April 23-29 in the form of multiple-choice questioning of 3 listening, reading, and writing skills according to the CEFR (A1-C2) framework to assess the comprehensive English proficiency of the teaching staff, not competitive or personal professional assessment.
The survey results are divided into 3 groups of reliability, in which the group with reliability shows: 41% of teachers have a B1 level, 28% have a B2 level or higher and 31% have less than B1. In high school, no teacher has achieved C2, 45% achieved B2-C1 and 30% below B1. Primary and secondary school levels have quite similar results, with about 30-33% of teachers below B1, 38-43% achieving B1 and 27-29% from B2 and above.
The Department affirmed that the survey data will help build a strategy to improve foreign language proficiency in the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education, while committing to absolute confidentiality of teachers' personal information, not using results to consider salaries, bonuses or handle discipline. In addition to salary, teachers are expected to receive many additional preferential policies
In addition to salary, Article 26 of the Draft Law on Teachers also clearly states many policies to support teachers such as regional allowances, training support, health care, house rental support, train and bus expenses payment and allowances according to work characteristics. Teachers working in disadvantaged areas, teaching talents or in special environments also enjoy many special incentive policies.

Firstly, teachers are allowed to rent public housing according to the provisions of the law on housing or are guaranteed collective housing when working in ethnic minority areas, mountainous areas, border areas, islands and areas with particularly difficult socio-economic conditions. In case the collective housing or public housing cannot be arranged, teachers will be supported with housing rent according to the level of public housing rental support according to regulations;
Second, teachers are supported to pay for bus fares during their working time in areas with particularly difficult socio-economic conditions according to regulations;
Third, teachers are entitled to allowances and subsidies depending on the subject. See more...
